Additionally, getting married in Bali requires adherence to specific legal and cultural guidelines. So before we check some great Bali wedding locations, here’s a general overview:
Legal Requirements:
- A couple must be of the opposite sex and over the age of 21, or parental consent is required.
- A Notice of Intention to Marry must be lodged with the Civil Registry Office at least ten days before the wedding.
- Both parties must hold a valid passport and birth certificate.
- Both parties must provide a Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage from their consulate or diplomatic representative.
- If either party is divorced, a valid divorce certificate must be presented.
- If either party is widowed, a death certificate of the former spouse must be presented.
